As an independent, Miami-based, community-driven media organization, Impact.Edition elevates the voices of local changemakers who work toward positive, lasting change – from addressing social inequality to saving the planet from environmental ruin.

EDITORIAL INDEPENDENCE
Our editorial relies strongly on in-depth interviews with community changemakers who prove their influence toward positive lasting change – from addressing social inequality to saving the planet from environmental ruin. Impact.Edition may consider donations to support the coverage of particular topics like this, but our organization maintains full editorial control of the coverage.
HOW WE ARE FUNDED
Impact.Edition is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our tax ID is 92-2750811. To support our operations, coverage of specific topics, and special storytelling programs like this, we accept gifts, grants, and sponsorships from individuals, organizations, and foundations. Any donation to Impact.Edition are tax-deductible. In 2023, our storytelling program, Who Is Miami, and production of the print magazine are largely supported by the Green Family Foundation and the Miami-Dade Cultural Affairs Department.
FINANCIAL TRANSPARENCY
We are committed to transparency in every aspect of funding our organization. We make public all revenue sources and donors who give $5,000 or more per year. As a news nonprofit, we avoid accepting charitable donations from anonymous sources, government entities, political parties, elected officials or candidates seeking public office. We will not accept donations from sources who, deemed by our board of directors, present a conflict of interest with our work or compromise our independence.

We are proud to serve a truly diverse audience by intentionally connecting groups underrepresented in mainstream media including student startups, grassroots organizations, immigrants-powered ventures, emerging social entrepreneurs and artists to expand their reach.
JOURNALISM MATTERS
We provide free media coverage and editorial support for social entrepreneurs, changemakers, nonprofit activists to help them share their voice, knowledge, and experience for a better world and broader representation.
INSPIRE COLLABORATION
We are aimed to drive cross-sectoral collaboration for collective action through our high stakeholders engagements, community partners’ influence and its social capital, including local artists and culture creators into business-social dialogue.
MEASURABLE IMPACT
We are one of the first media organizations that integrated impact indicators based on the UN Sustainable Development Goals to measure its performance, and we regularly participate in key media industry events and global gatherings of changemakers.

Yulia is a tenacious, passionate communications professional with over 15 years of experience in journalism, corporate communications, public relations, brand marketing, and content development. Using her skills as a content strategist and producer, Yulia helps mission-driven ventures drive positive social change through inspiring storytelling and community engagement. Her social efforts have resulted in the launch of Impact.Edition, a nonprofit media that amplifies the voices of ordinary people doing extraordinary things. Yulia holds an MBA degree from Florida International University and a Ph.D. in journalism from Media Industry Academy.
SAMANTHA SCHALIT

Editor-in-Chief
Multi-passionate and curious, Samantha went into journalism and digital advertising. And in that work, her fascination with the intersection of storytelling, art, and technology only grew. Samantha’s driven by the belief we should leave the world better than we found it. The cornerstone of that mission is using her skills as a writer, strategist & producer to connect her community to their own stories. With years of experience in creative digital strategy & production, Samantha helped many brands to find its voices through style and digital content development. She was born and raised in Miami. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in creative writing and journalism.
KACIE BROWN

Senior Social Impact Writer
Kacie masters the forms of creative expression with words and without. She is a professional musician and writer originally from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. With this unique blend of creative skills and passion for social justice and music, she is eager to amplify the voices of community changemakers. Kacie earned a Bachelor of Music in saxophone performance with a certificate in journalism from Indiana University, where she is currently pursuing a Master of Music as an associate instructor.

A Miami native, Paloma is unwavering in her commitment to effecting positive change in her hometown and promoting sustainable initiatives for a healthier planet. Holding a bachelor's degree in digital journalism from Florida International University, she aims to utilize her writing skills to elevate voices, expose injustices, and foster awareness through compelling storytelling across various multimedia platforms.

Yadira is a passionate advocate for sustainability and the founder of Gradible, Miami’s pioneering environmental concierge company focused on waste reduction and optimizing businesses’ bottom lines. Having an extensive experience in sustainable development and community engagement, Yadira mobilizes and redirects local government and businesses toward sustainable choices and collaborative
efforts for a better world and regenerative
communities. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in business administration and management.

Sarah is a dedicated writer, avid reader, and aspiring journalist who is currently pursuing a degree in English and linguistics at Rice University, Houston, Texas. With a strong passion for both social and climate justice, Sarah is committed to making a positive impact through her writing. Her aim is to create meaningful change by addressing important issues in her work. Looking ahead, she envisions carrying forward this mission as she pursues a path toward law school, where she hopes to amplify her efforts and contribute to the betterment of society.

Scarlett Lanzas is a social entrepreneur, impact investor, and nonprofit management executive. She founded Accountable Impact, a social enterprise that prioritizes the need to collect timely data and provide policy solutions to advance the SDGs by working with corporations, cities, and regional governments to create
scorecards and voluntary local reviews.

Media for Change
Sanjeev Chatterjee is a professor at the School of Communication of the University of Miami, a visual storyteller, and an avid mentor to young changemakers in the media and related fields. In 2013, Sanjeev founded mediaforchange.org in the effort to connect media changemakers everywhere.
GREG CLARK
Founder
Good Miami Project
Greg is an award-winning Miami-based environmental and social documentary photographer who works with NGOs and nonprofits. He founded Good Miami Project to provide pro-bono photoshoots for Miami-based nonprofits and changemakers to help further their missions. Images are free for organizations to use. Greg is also on the Board of the Overtown Music Project and Miami Waterkeeper.
